老子道徳経 第18章
俗薄
ぞくはく
原文
大道廢、有仁義。智慧出、有大僞。六親不和、有孝慈。國家昏亂、有忠臣。

大道廢れて、仁義有り。智慧出でて、大僞有り。六親和せずして、孝慈有り。國家昏亂して、忠臣有り。
現代語訳
大いなる道が廃れてしまったので、仁や義が説かれるようになった。知恵が現れ用いられるようになったので、大きな偽り(策略やごまかし)が生じた。親族の間の関係が調和を失ったので、孝行や慈愛が改めて強調されるようになった。国家が混乱したので、忠臣という存在がことさら目立つようになった。
中文釋義
大道被废弃了,仁义的说教才应运而生;智巧、心机一旦兴起,虚伪狡诈也随之出现;家庭六亲不再和睦,孝顺慈爱才被特别提倡出来彰显;国家陷入昏乱,忠臣的名节才会显现出来。老子借此指出:仁义、孝慈、忠臣这些被人称颂的美德,恰恰是在大道衰败、天性丧失之后才被人为地标举出来的,它们的出现本身正是社会失序的征兆,而非治世的证明。
English
When the great Way is abandoned, benevolence and righteousness appear. When cleverness and knowledge arise, great hypocrisy follows. When family relations lose their harmony, filial piety and kindness are extolled. When the state falls into chaos, loyal ministers become conspicuous. Each virtue Laozi names is, paradoxically, a symptom of decline rather than a cure — praised precisely because the natural, unforced order that made such praise unnecessary has already been lost.

「もっと誠実に」「もっと思いやりを」と声高に叫ばれる組織ほど、実はそれが足りていない証拠かもしれない。理念やスローガンを掲げること自体が悪いのではなく、掲げねばならなくなった時点で、何かが既に崩れ始めている。看板より先に、日々の自然な在り方を見つめ直したい。

一个团体越是天天强调忠诚、强调仁爱,往往说明这些东西已经不够用了。口号喊得响,不代表状态好,反而常常是失序的信号,是问题浮出水面的征兆。与其急着立规矩、贴标语,不如回头看看,日常相处里究竟哪里已经变得生硬、哪里已经不再自然。修补根本,总比补贴门面来得实在,也更省心。
A Word for Today
An organization that constantly proclaims its loyalty or its kindness is often revealing exactly where those qualities have gone thin. Loud slogans are not evidence of health; more often they mark the moment something ordinary has already broken down. Before adding new rules or banners, it helps to look at where daily dealings have grown stiff or forced — mending what is basic serves better than dressing up the surface.
